Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking a seasoned Sourcing Leader to drive global supplier qualification for direct materials supporting New Product Development and other sourcing initiatives. You will guide cross-functional teams, manage spend analytics, and lead cost-savings programs to strengthen our supplier base.

The role requires 5+ years in sourcing, strong negotiation, and the ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sourcing experience, including low-cost-country sourcing.
• Experience building RFPs and creating tools to analyze responses.
• Demonstrated success in change-management and “stretch” environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and data visualization (Tableau/Power BI) preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
• Expert negotiator with ability to lead contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing channels and internal cross-functional teams to execute timelines and action plans.
• Identify and justify sourcing and re-sourcing projects using total cost of ownership principles.
• Source assigned commodities and develop global implementation plans to optimize supplier cost.
• Ensure on-time delivery of project components by troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate on new product development projects to guarantee on-time product availability.
• Prepare RFPs, RFQs and lead supplier selection processes.
• Evaluate bids, develop negotiation strategy, and recommend contract awards.
• Negotiate and draft supply agreements for domestic and international suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships and recommend changes in supply base.
• Publish monthly commodity metrics and recommend action plans for continuous improvement.

Job Overview
