Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a procurement professional to manage the customer relations, purchasing, and financial functions for an assigned product category. You will coordinate buying, selling, and merchandising with vendors and the distributor to drive profits and high in-stock percentages.

Interface with sales, marketing, accounting, warehousing, transportation, and other purchasing staff to optimize inventory, terms, and supplier opportunities while ensuring accurate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• 3–5 years foodservice distribution and purchasing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the buying, selling, and merchandising with vendors and distributor to ensure high in-stock percentages and strong profitability.
• Interface with sales, marketing, accounting, warehousing, transportation, and vendor communities.
• Purchasing & inventory: maintain optimal inventory levels, minimize dead or slow-moving stock, monitor over-commitment.
• Negotiate buy brackets, inbound freight rates, cash discounts, extended terms, and earned income/bill backs.
• Ensure pricing accuracy, handle customer audits, and review sales-below-cost reports.
• Supervise, coach, and train teams of buyers or category analysts.
• Assist sales representatives and multi-unit account managers with product knowledge and supplier opportunities.
