Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Catastrophe Risk Analyst to support catastrophe modeling and reporting across Personal Lines and Small Business. You will work under the ERM Insurance Risk Management group to analyze natural perils, terrorism, and other CAT metrics, and communicate insights to stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in catastrophe risk, strong coding and data visualization skills, and experience with AIR Touchstone or RMS, Excel/VBA, SQL, and R.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics or Actuarial Science.
  • 5+ years of catastrophe risk management experience.
  • Proficient in Excel/VBA, SQL, R and CoPilot (or other AI).
  • Experience with catastrophe models such as AIR Touchstone or RMS Risklink.
  • CEEM designation is preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support catastrophe modeling for Personal Lines and Small Business for natural perils and other metrics.
  • Communicate model outputs and initiatives to business segments.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual catastrophe metrics reporting.
  • Collaborate with other ERM functions and teams.
