Job summary

Uline in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, seeks a Senior Database Administrator to design, develop, and optimize Cassandra/DataStax deployments supporting North American operations. You will drive database design and performance initiatives in a high-availability environment.

The role requires 7+ years of database management experience, expertise with Cassandra/DataStax, and scripting with Ansible, Python, or shell.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Database Management.
• Advanced knowledge of Cassandra/DataStax.
• Experience writing programs with Ansible, Python or shell scripting.
• Uline does not participate in the H1-B lottery.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures across platforms.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex databases, tables, indexes and other database objects as well as Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) solutions.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices across platforms to ensure they meet Uline’s quality standards.
• Partner with application development teams to ensure optimal query performance by monitoring databases and implementing design improvements.
• Provide hands-on database support, ensuring robust backups, tested recovery procedures and swift issue resolution to maintain business continuity.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Database Management.
• Advanced knowledge of Database Management Systems such as Apache Cassandra or DataStax.
• Experience writing complex programs using technologies such as Ansible, Python or shell scripting.
• Uline does not participate in the H1-B lottery.
