Job summary

A family in New York, NY 10025 is seeking an experienced and compassionate caregiver to support an aging loved one starting ASAP. This is a private, family-hired role, not an agency position, with a focus on meaningful interactions and long-term relationships with the family.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Responsibilities include companionship, meal preparation, bathing and hygiene support, and assistance with errands and medical appointments as needed.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support to the client.
• Prepare meals for late breakfast and supper.
• Assist with bathing and daily hygiene.
• Shop for essentials as needed.
• Assist with appointments and transportation if required.
• Accompany client on neighborhood walks when weather allows.
• Maintain open communication with family and ensure safety.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Family Specifications:

• Smoke-free and pet-free apartment with elevator and doorman located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, near the No. 1,2 3 subway line.
• Family values open communication and building a long-term relationship with the right caregiver

Responsibilities:

• Companionship.
• Meal preparation for late breakfast and supper.
• Bathing and hygiene support
• Some shopping.
• Ability to use the computer for online ordering and navigation
• Walking in the neighborhood when weather permits.
• Assistance in getting to medical appointments when family members are unavailable.
• Keep open communication with the client’s family.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment.

Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certified

Compensation:

• Full-time position at an annual salary of $60-70,000
