Job summary

Tufts Medicine in Lowell, MA seeks a seasoned Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures in alignment with department policies and radiological standards. You will enable radiologists and physicians to make accurate diagnoses while ensuring patient safety and high-quality care across rotations.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI registration, an associate degree in radiology, and 4+ years of cardiac ultrasound experience, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiology or related field.
• ARDMS or CCI cardiac sonographer registration.
• Four years of experience as a Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist.
• Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform cardiac ultrasound procedures on patients as assigned according to policy and radiological standards.
• Verify patient and procedure to be performed.
• Provide clear and accurate instructions to patients.
• Verify and perform correct imaging protocol, step, procedures, and scanner parameters for each patient.
• Ensure patient and staff safety for equipment used.
• Participate in ongoing education and training.
• Perform quality control on equipment and devices as required.
• Communicate with other staff/departments to coordinate care of patients.
• Maintain supply stock and request stock to be ordered when necessary.
• Keep all work areas clean and functional according to DPH and The Joint Commission.
• Train and educate students and/or technologists on proper procedures and techniques.
