Job summary

Intellias is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a mission-driven medical system in the Greater Boston area. You will design and implement high-performance system software that interfaces with embedded hardware and medical imaging components.

The role requires deep expertise in Python and C++, real-time/embedded development, and collaboration with hardware, clinical teams, and QA to ensure regulatory compliance and product reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (4+ years) or Master’s with 2+ years or PhD with experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience in real-time or embedded software development; hardware–software integration.
• Familiarity with network protocols and Bluetooth stack maintenance.
• Hands-on with ROS, Linux-based development and real-time OSs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS/Azure) and scalable architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of high-performance system software.
• Develop, test, and debug applications interfacing with embedded hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, product managers, and QA to meet standards.
• Drive code quality via peer reviews, automated testing, and CI.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.
• Document design decisions, processes, and testing methodologies for traceability.
• Troubleshoot complex software issues in a regulated environment.
• Participate in lab evaluations, pre-clinical testing, and system demonstrations.
• Stay current with emerging tools and industry best practices.
