Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX is seeking an experienced RN with critical care or Cath/EP experience to support Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab procedures. Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital to meet call requirements and be licensed to practice in Texas.

Responsibilities include assisting in cardiac catheterization, vascular and interventional procedures, and responding to emergencies under the supervision of credentialed physicians.

Qualifications

• RN with critical care and/or Cath/EP experience, intermediate care experience or two years of clinical RN experience.
• Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Cardiovascular certification such as CVRN II or higher, CCRN, RCIS, RCES preferred, however, once hired certification is required upon completion of training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, vascular and interventional procedures.
• Provide nursing care in Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab.
• Respond to emergencies during catheterization procedures.
• Follow established standards under the direction of credentialed invasive cardiologists and electrophysiologists.
• Function as a resource for Cath Lab - Nurse Clinician I or II.
• Provide patient care per ANA standards and UTMB competency domains.
