Job summary

Dana Kowen Associates - Executive Search to the Manufacturing Industry is seeking a Senior Capital Project Engineer for a leading food manufacturing facility in Ottumwa, IA. This hands-on role leads major capital projects, coordinating with plant and engineering teams to optimize equipment and processes.

Compensation is up to $140,000 plus incentive bonus and relocation assistance. The position includes mentoring growth-oriented engineers and ensuring compliance with food safety requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
5+ years of experience in food manufacturing.
5+ years of engineering/project experience.
Experience managing capital projects and budgets.

Responsibilities

Take the lead on capital projects from planning and design through construction and start-up.
Manage project costs, timelines, and multimillion-dollar budgets.
Work through equipment and manufacturing issues and find practical solutions.
Handle equipment specifications, procurement, and contractor bids.
Coordinate construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Work with and mentor early-career engineers.
Make sure projects meet food safety requirements.
