Job summary

Virginia Tech’s Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) in Washington DC is seeking an exceptional investigator at the level of Professor or Associate Professor to lead an independent cancer research program with strong extramural funding.

The successful candidate will mentor VT graduate, medical, and undergraduate students, participate in teaching, and may be considered for deputy director of the FBRI Cancer Research Center - DC. Competitive salary and start-up package will be provided.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, and/or DVM with independent cancer research program.
• Strong publication record and extramural funding.
• Commitment to mentorship of junior researchers.
• Experience with teaching graduate students.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-quality, extramurally funded cancer research program.
• Mentor VT graduate, medical, and undergraduate students.
• Contribute to teaching and potentially deputy director role for DC center.
• Collaborate across precision oncology, genomics, immunotherapy and hematological malignancies.
