Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a University Landscape Architect to lead landscape design for significant capital projects, guiding a team of planners and landscape architects. The role partners with the University Architect to develop campus frameworks and to implement the SIP-C program across diverse campus spaces.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in architecture, landscape architecture, planning, or other appropriate specialty.
• Ten plus years of professional experience including managerial experience.
• Knowledge of campus planning, landscape design, and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of planners and landscape architects to provide direction on landscape design for major capital projects.
• Develop campus planning framework and contribute to the SIP-C program.
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and Stanford units to promote placemaking that supports the university mission.
• Oversee land use, space planning, and design projects involving Stanford facilities and lands.
• Prepare written reports and presentations for senior administration, public officials, trustees, and donors.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and assess environmental and social impacts.
