Job summary

Frost Valley YMCA is seeking a Senior Counselor to supervise daily cabin activities for a group of campers during summer programs. You will oversee cabin groups 24/7, plan and participate in daily activities, and support staff and Directors.

You will assist with check-in/check-out, help with luggage and meals, and uphold the organization's values while ensuring a safe, engaging camp experience for children.

• Leadership experience in childcare
• Knowledge of supervisory skills, conflict resolution, behavior management and childcare
• Enthusiastic, fun, creative, energetic and organized

Description

The Senior Counselor is responsible for supervising and managing the daily activities and interactions of a cabin of campers. Senior Counselors are responsible for the 24/7 supervision of cabin groups, planning and participating in daily activities with cabin groups as well as assisting counselors in planning activities. Senior Counselors will interact with Directors, counseling staff, parents. Senior Counselors are an essential part of check in and check out, assisting with luggage and meal times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess leadership experience in childcare. i.e. YMCA, church, school, community organizations, etc.
• Have knowledge of supervisory skills, conflict resolution, behavior management and childcare
• Must be enthusiastic, fun, creative, energetic and organized.
