Job summary

PureStar is seeking a Senior Labor and Employment Counsel to serve as a trusted adviser to senior leadership across a multi-state organization with a focus on California operations. Based in California, this role provides strategic legal counsel on employment, labor, workplace compliance, and workforce management matters.

Guided by the Chief Legal Officer, you will partner with operations to proactively manage legal risk, lead investigations, oversee wage and hour compliance, and support labor

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active CA State Bar membership.
• 8+ years of experience practicing California employment and labor law, including in-house or management-side counseling.
• Experience advising employers on employment law and employee relations.
• Experience handling complex workplace investigations and employment litigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic counsel on California employment and labor law across the organization.
• Oversee employment-related investigations, litigation, and regulatory matters.
• Advise HR and Operations on workforce strategies, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and workforce restructures from a legal perspective.
