Job summary

Elanco, a global leader in animal health, seeks a Senior Maintenance Specialist, Calibration Technician for its Elwood, KS manufacturing site. You will perform routine calibrations, troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems, and maintain GMP-compliant records.

You will work with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to minimize downtime, support preventive maintenance, and manage calibration programs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3-5 years of calibration experience.
• Technical Skills: Ability to perform routine instrument calibration, verify equipment accuracy, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems.
• Problem-Solving: Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.
• Organization: Prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills across teams.
• Work Style: Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while contributing to team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine calibration of instruments and control systems, verifying accuracy against established standards to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Adhere to site and corporate calibration programs, ensuring calibration activities are completed according to established schedules and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control systems in collaboration with Operations and Engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Coordinate calibration activities for new and existing instruments with internal customers and external vendors, ensuring timely completion and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation in accordance with GMP requirements and good documentation practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to support equipment functionality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Provide production and maintenance support for equipment, including tanks, mixers, bioreactors, pumps, filters, washers, sterilizers, filling equipment, and solids processing equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on equipment as required to support reliable operations and minimize unplanned downtime.
