Job summary

Micron Technology in the United States is seeking engineers to develop, enhance, and debug CAD tools for custom IC design, layout, simulation, and verification. You will collaborate with design, layout, verification, and process teams to resolve tool-integration challenges and improve workflows.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in CAD/EDA, strong Python and another language, solid CMOS/VLSI fundamentals, and experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre, and circuit simulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS.
• 5+ years in CAD, EDA, or semiconductor design.
• Experience with EDA tools and flows in at least one area (layout, verification, simulation, or digital).
• Experience with IC design CAD tools for schematic capture, layout, simulation, or verification.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one other language; Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
• Strong CMOS and VLSI fundamentals and clear communication across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and debug CAD tools, automation, and flows for custom IC design and verification.
• Contribute to layout automation, physical verification, circuit simulation, or digital implementation.
• Integrate, evaluate, and qualify in-house and commercial EDA tools in production.
• Partner with design, layout, verification, and process teams to resolve tool challenges.
• Identify gaps in tools/flows and evaluate EDA offerings to improve quality and efficiency.
• Provide training, documentation, and production support to end users.
• Apply AI/ML and agentic AI to CAD automation, debugging, and user support.
• Develop scalable software and mentor engineers on technical growth.
• Lead technical projects and contribute to CAD methodology roadmaps.
