Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Senior CAD Designer for Water and Wastewater projects in the United States. This role involves creating, checking, and maintaining civil models for utilities, including grading, piping, and electrical coordination, with cross-discipline collaboration to meet project standards.

The candidate should have 4+ years in civil design, strong Civil 3D/AutoCAD skills, and the ability to verify survey data and deliverables for accuracy.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of civil design or related experience.
• Experience in plan and profile development.
• Prior experience with Civil3D/AutoCAD software.

Responsibilities

• Set up, create, and maintain complex civil models for piping or grading.
• Verify survey data and GIS information for design implementation.
• Handle pipe layouts, ensure client/company standards compliance, and create structures/fittings tables.
• Coordinate electrical duct bank site layouts with the electrical engineer and determine manhole/hand hole parameters.
• Perform detailed grading using feature lines, grading objects, and corridors.
• Conduct vehicle tracking analysis for clearance and functionality.
• Perform visual clash detection and verify ground cover of piping.
• Verify client expectations in the BIM execution plan before work begins.
• Be flexible to take on additional assignments as needed.
• Mentor and support less experienced team members.

TheSenior CAD Designer rolewillbea major contributor inthe development of civil drawingsfor water and wastewater utility infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.Thiscomprisesthesetup, creation, and maintenance ofcomplexcivil models, whether site or linear.This includes detailed grading design,complexpiping design layouts,visualclash detections,surface analysisandelectrical site layoutcoordinationas well as vehicle trackingstudies.Therole willverify survey data and evaluate record drawings for accuracy,as well asimplementdesigns.This role will providecross discipline coordinationand analysis.Aproficiency in Civil 3D/AutoCADisessential.Thisposition has decision-makingauthority with a licensedengineer.

Responsibilities

• Setup, create, andmaintaincomplex civil models, whether piping or grading, with an understanding in the usage of data shortcuts as required,for numerousprojects.
• Verifycompany electronic deliverableforsurvey, as well as GIS information, for the implementation into design.
• Handlepipe layouts, verifyingcompliance with client and company standards,creating tables for structures and fittings,denoting any specificclient detail exceptions as needed or indicated by the engineer.
• Coordinate electrical duct banksite layouts,ensuring accurateduct bank sizing and constraints with the electrical engineer,as well asmanhole/hand hole parameters.
• Executedetailedgrading,applying various techniques (feature lines, grading objects, corridors) as the project requires.
• Conduct vehicle tracking analysis to ensureclearance and functionality.
• Perform visual clash detection,verifying ground cover of piping.
• Verifythe client expectations prior to commencementin the BIM execution Plan (BxP), to ensureall appropriate standards are being followed and schedule understood.
• Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
• May provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.

Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $30.70 - $41.90
Location B: $34.10 - $46.20
Location C: $37.00 - $50.50
