Job summary

Foundation Llm Technologies, a MIT-born venture-backed startup, is building a real-life Jarvis—an AI Copilot for design and manufacturing. We seek a Senior CAD Backend Engineer to connect CAD systems to cloud services, automate design workflows, and develop Python-based backend features.

You will integrate with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, and PTC APIs; design Protobuf data models; collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams; and deliver clean, fast, and maintainable code.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years designing and implementing backend services.
• 3+ years with Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or PTC APIs.
• 3+ years writing Python.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native applications and infrastructure.
• Experience with Protobuf and 3D data.
• Experience writing C++.
• Experience implementing gRPC-based APIs.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with Google Cloud.
• Experience setting up logging and monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and scripts using Python.
• Integrate our product with 3rd-Party design solutions, like Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or PTC.
• Design, develop, and maintain data models using Protobuf.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers and researchers.
• Write clean, well-documented, fast, and maintainable code.
