Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Appleton seeks a skilled Cabinet Maker IV to fabricate complex cabinet assemblies for aircraft interiors, following drawings and specs to ensure quality.

You will work with the lead technician, mentor teammates, and support process improvements while upholding safety and Lean practices. Four years of cabinetmaking experience and a high school diploma or GED are required; aerospace experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• > High School Diploma or GED required.
• > 4 years of cabinetmaking experience; aerospace experience preferred.
• > Excellent communication skills and ability to read/write English.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates complex high quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using stationary and hand held-tools.
• Interprets material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail.
• Coordinates with supervision to ensure compliance with customer approved design samples.
• Utilizes a variety of woodworking tools and techniques.
• Complies with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensures protection of aircraft interiors.
• Works with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements (Lean Six-Sigma).
• Utilizes material tracking system to create parts demand and sign-off work.
• Accepts Lead responsibilities when required; mentors and trains lesser skilled technicians.
• Oversees projects and coordinates with Lead to delegate tasks to technicians.
• Conducts safety audits and assists team members in doing safety audits.
• Maintains shop equipment and JSAs; coordinates with backshops as needed.
• Adapts to sudden schedule changes.
