Job summary

Norton Rixson, part of the ASSA ABLOY group, seeks a Senior Buyer in Monroe, NC to drive cost analyses, supplier negotiations, and procurement strategies across major commodities. You will partner with manufacturing and engineering to balance cost, schedule, and quality while managing contracts and inventory strategies in a lean environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of procurement experience, international logistics exposure, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or engineering; CPM/CPSM desired.
• 5+ years procurement experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
• Experience in international procurement and logistics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Experience leading others to meet KPIs and deadlines.
• Knowledge of price analysis, negotiations, ethics, and purchasing law.
• Capital project experience; lean/continuous improvement methods.
• Reorder point material system experience preferred; JD Edwards knowledge helpful.
• Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills; procurement software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders to suppliers based on planning tools and obtain acknowledgements.
• Reconcile past-due purchase orders and maintain supplier quote files.
• Develop cost/price/value analyses and lead cost negotiations.
• Create material management strategies and manage supplier contracts.
• Measure supplier performance with scorecards; drive process improvement.
• Coordinate with quality, engineering, and manufacturing on non-conforming materials.
• Prepare management reports and align with accounting on invoices.
• Support transition from old to new products and procurement processes.
