Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Senior Buyer for its Lorton, VA location to lead strategic procurement and optimize cost without compromising quality. You will develop procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

The role requires extensive experience in procurement, CPSR familiarity, and proficiency with Costpoint ERP, supported by excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience—7+ years in a procurement or purchasing role, with at least 3+ years in a senior position handling complex procurement tasks.
• Understands Contractors Purchasing System Reviews (CPSR) requirements.
• Use of Costpoint ERP system.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with company goals.
• Negotiate and execute purchase orders and Long‑Term Agreement contracts with suppliers and secure advantageous terms.
• Perform price/cost analysis.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and services from vendors.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and new suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR requirements and regulations.
