Job summary

LB Foster is seeking a Buyer/Planner II to handle purchasing, material planning, and production scheduling to support plant capacity and customer requirements.

You will manage purchase orders, work orders, and inbound logistics using TMS, while driving cost reductions and supplier collaboration. This role requires SAP or ERP experience, 3–5 years in a similar role, and a Bachelor's in business or supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers is required.
• ERP/MRP system experience is required, preferably SAP.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Create, release, and maintain purchase orders and work orders to support demand requirements.
• Weigh risk factors when making buy decisions and support inventory targets.
• Control documents pertaining to the supply base.
• Drive resolution of material constraints through direct intervention with suppliers.
• Conduct production meetings to ensure schedules and customer dates are met.
• Manage inbound material using TMS and select carriers for best price and service.
• Identify and implement cost reduction activities through optimized processes and supplier collaboration.
• Drive inventory reduction through improved buying methodology and process improvements.
