Job summary

Long Wave Inc. in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage materials, services, and supplier relationships within our aerospace/defense-focused operations.

In this role you will use Costpoint to create RFQs, convert PREQs to POs, and monitor purchase orders while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure on-time delivery and best-value sourcing. This full-time position requires a DoD-friendly mindset, ERP proficiency, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain management or similar role.
• Experience with Costpoint ERP.
• Proficiency in Excel and data-driven tools with high accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Use Costpoint to create RFQs, submittals, and PREQ to PO conversions.
• Communicate with suppliers on order status and expedite deliveries.
• Oversee Open Purchase Orders and overdue POs and manage follow-ups.
• Track and report supplier performance in meetings.
• Lead efforts to resolve supplier performance and delivery issues.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and assist in identifying engineering solutions for alternate parts.
• Assist in forecasting, bids support, and reporting activities.
• Collaborate with Buyers, Category Managers, and Purchasing Manager on supplier strategies.
• Continuously improve internal sourcing and purchasing processes.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure information flow to internal customers.
