Job summary

Epic is seeking a procurement specialist for its culinary department, responsible for sourcing equipment from large appliances to small wares and building strong vendor relationships.

You will work closely with chefs and cross-functional teams, prioritizing local sourcing when feasible and coordinating with facilities, catering, and accounting to meet daily sourcing needs. Relocation to Madison, WI is reimbursed and benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Procure culinary department equipment, including large industrial appliances, merchandising equipment, and small wares.
• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with a variety of vendors; source locally when possible.
• Collaborate with chefs and facilities, catering, events, accounting teams to coordinate sourcing.
• Support continuous expansion and upgrading of culinary facilities and sourcing needs.

Job description

Please note that this position is based on our campus in Madison, WI, and requires relocation to the area. We recruit nationally and provide financial relocation assistance.

Play a key role in the procurement for our culinary department including large industrial appliances and merchandising equipment, as well as small wares like spatulas, whisks, and plates and large quantities of food and consumables. The Epic culinary department serves around 12,000 meals per day to our customers, staff, and visitors. We regularly update and expand our culinary facilities to support our daily menus featuring a variety of regional, international, and seasonal offerings, producing continuous sourcing needs.

In addition to collaborating with our chefs and other stakeholders (including catering, events, facilities, and accounting teams), you will establish, develop, and maintain relationships with a variety of vendors. We prioritize sourcing locally whenever possible and work with purveyors from local farmers to national wholesalers to strike the right balance between quality, sustainability, and cost.
