Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is partnering with a long-standing manufacturing company in East Haven, CT to hire a Senior Buyer for a full-time onsite role. The position focuses on vendor management, pricing negotiations, and close collaboration with engineering and operations, with international supplier exposure and ISO 9001 process support.

The role requires 5–7 years in manufacturing purchasing, reading drawings, ERP/MPS experience, and travel internationally.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with machined and fabricated parts.
• Strong vendor management and price negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical/engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, inventory, and cost control.
• ERP/MPS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase orders, vendor management, expediting, and inventory requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with domestic and international suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
• Manage international purchasing and supply chain activities, including shipping logistics and order status.
• Manage annual and semi-annual blanket orders.
• Work closely with manufacturing and engineering to resolve supplier and quality issues.
• Review inventory levels and purchasing requirements through the company’s ERP system.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies.
• Follow ISO 9001 procedures and assist with continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
• Travel internationally approximately twice per year, including trips to China and India.

• Salary: $100,000+ with flexibility for the right candidate
• Bonus: 7% bonus + profit-sharing opportunity
