Job summary

Carolina PRG is partnering with a growing organization in the Charlotte market to identify an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team. This position will play an important role in supporting purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring materials and services are available to meet business and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or similar environment preferred.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management experience.
• Experience working within an ERP system.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the purchasing process for assigned materials, products, and services.
• Issue and manage purchase orders from creation through delivery.
• Partner with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and service levels.
• Monitor inventory levels and purchasing requirements to support business needs.
• Track open purchase orders and proactively address shortages, delays, and other supply issues.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and service.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and purchasing efficiencies.
• Support sourcing initiatives and supplier selection.
• Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and other internal teams.
• Review purchasing trends, spend, and supplier data to support business decisions.
• Assist with resolving invoice, pricing, and receiving discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP system.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the purchasing and supply chain function.
