Job summary

Amtec Staffing is seeking a Buyer II to purchase materials, equipment, and services at optimal price and quality. The role supports independent work, negotiates with suppliers, manages costs, and helps mentor junior team members.

Key responsibilities include reviewing requisitions, tracking shipments, evaluating vendors, and coordinating with production, engineering, and finance to forecast needs. Strong negotiation, analysis, and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Education & experience: Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business, or related) or equivalent, plus 2–5 years in purchasing or supply chain.
• Manufacturing knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, fabrication, and reading technical drawings or bids.
• Key strengths: Strong negotiation skills, solid data/market analysis, problem-solving ability, and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement: Review purchase requisitions, place orders, track shipments, and expedite delivery dates.
• Vendor Management: Find, evaluate, and qualify new vendors; negotiate prices, contracts, and terms; maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Inventory & Forecasting: Monitor inventory levels and partner with production, engineering, and finance to plan future purchasing needs.
• Problem Solving: Resolve delivery delays, product quality issues, and invoice discrepancies.
• Cost & Performance Analysis: Track supplier performance, analyze market trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate purchasing files and ensure all activity follows company policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications
