What we’re looking for:

Nexamp is looking to hire a Senior Business Transformation Manager, Finance Transformation. In this role, you will lead a multi-year portfolio of cross-functional initiatives that improve the scalability, reliability, control, and decision-readiness of Nexamp’s Finance ecosystem.

Accounting will be the initial anchor for this work, with the portfolio extending across critical Finance interfaces such as Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Project Finance and Capital Markets, Asset Management, and selected business units. You will lead defined workstreams from discovery through future-state design, implementation, adoption, measurement, and transition to the teams that will own the work day to day.

This is an implementation-oriented role for someone who can connect Finance domain knowledge with operating-model design, process improvement, systems enablement, and change management. You will own the transformation work—not the Finance functions’ line-management responsibilities—and will be accountable for measurable, sustainable improvement rather than recommendations alone.

This role supports hybrid work out of our Boston, Chicago, or Washington, D.C. offices. You will report to the Director, Operations Enablement and work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional partners.

What you’ll do:

• Own the Finance transformation portfolio by building and maintaining an integrated roadmap across Accounting and critical Finance interfaces. Sequence work based on risk, value, effort, dependencies, and organizational capacity; define problem statements, outcomes, decision rights, milestones, and success measures; and maintain the implementation backlog, dependency log, decision log, and executive reporting rhythm.
• Lead complex Finance transformation workstreams end to end, from problem framing and current-state diagnosis through future-state design, implementation, adoption, measurement, stabilization, and transition. Escalate unresolved trade-offs and sponsor misalignment so decisions are made at the right level.
• Convert existing process documentation, current-state maps, and capability work into implementation. Validate findings through interviews, walkthroughs, transaction and reporting samples, data analysis, and direct observation. Distinguish root causes from symptoms and local process issues from enterprise operating-model issues.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and organizational design methods to redesign Finance workflows, roles, handoffs, decision rights, review points, escalation paths, controls, and backup coverage. Establish practical target-state frameworks for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and reporting without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Connect financial architecture, controls, data, and technology across legal entities, projects, ownership structures, financing arrangements, tax-equity structures, intercompany relationships, consolidations, reporting dimensions, and technical-accounting judgments.
• Partner with Product & Technology and Finance system owners to optimize NetSuite and connected systems, including integrations, reporting, data quality, workflow configuration, and controlled automation. Translate business needs into clear requirements and support design confirmation, build or configuration, testing, user acceptance, deployment, adoption, and stabilization.
• Apply appropriate guardrails to AI-enabled accounting use cases, including human approval for accounting judgments and journal postings, source traceability, audit logs, and role-based access.
• Build and execute change and adoption strategies that include sponsor alignment, stakeholder engagement, communications, training inputs, job aids, reinforcement, and feedback loops. Monitor whether new ways of working are operating in practice and course-correct based on evidence.
• Define and track baseline and target measures such as cycle time, manual touchpoints, rework, handoff delays, key-person dependency, control burden, intercompany aging, cash-processing speed, data quality, and reporting timeliness. Partner with analytics teams to sustain the measurement approach and demonstrate value realization.
• Build reusable Finance transformation capability by codifying methods, templates, governance constructs, and implementation patterns. Mentor other Transformation team members on Finance discovery, operating-model design, process redesign, and implementation discipline.
• Build strong working relationships with Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Project Finance and Capital Markets, Asset Management, Product & Technology, and Finance leadership while maintaining clear ownership of functional decisions, policy authority, control ownership, and line management.

What you’ll bring:

• 7+ years of experience in management consulting, Finance transformation, strategic operations, investment banking, project or corporate finance, process optimization, controllership transformation, or a closely related field, including at least 3 years leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through implementation and sustainment.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex, Finance-related work from discovery through implementation and sustainment—not analysis or recommendations alone.
• Strong experience redesigning Finance processes and operating models, including clarifying roles, responsibilities, decision rights, controls, governance, and handoffs across functions such as Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, or Capital Markets.
• Comfort working directly with financial data, controls, reporting, and Finance systems, including ERP platforms such as NetSuite. You can translate Finance-process needs into system, integration, workflow, reporting, or automation requirements.
• Proven project, program, and change-management capabilities, including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, communications, training inputs, adoption measurement, and transition planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use financial and operational data to identify root causes, evaluate trade-offs, prioritize opportunities, and translate findings into clear implementation plans.
• Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, including the ability to facilitate cross-functional working sessions and deliver clear, decision-ready analyses and recommendations to senior Finance and executive audiences.
• Strong relationship-building and influence skills, with the ability to align stakeholders and drive progress without formal authority.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and balancing ambiguity with pragmatic execution, sound judgment, and a strong ownership mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $136,000 - $160,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non‑annual sales incentive plans, or other non‑annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company’s stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
