Job summary

Publix Super Markets, Inc. is seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst for the Store Item and Inventory Management Systems (SIIMS) team in Lakeland, FL.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to lead enterprise-scale solutions on web and mobile platforms, owning the backlog and defining the product vision and delivery strategy. You will lead requirements sessions, mentor analysts, and drive AI-enabled backlog prioritization and stakeholder communications, with hybrid work and onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related analytic field, or equivalent experience.
• 9+ years as a Business Systems Analyst, identifying processes and driving improvements.
• 7+ years translating problems into technical solutions.
• 7+ years delivering solutions in a distributed environment.
• 5+ years using Agile project management and code-management tools (Azure DevOps or Jira).
• 5+ years translating complex needs into clear requirements and user stories.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering and documentation with business and tech stakeholders.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog to align with business goals.
• Define product vision, strategy, and delivery progress.
• Drive release planning and execution across cross-functional teams.
• Define scope, priorities, timelines, and dependencies with leaders.
• Serve as liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to design scalable solutions.
• Review designs, integrations, APIs, data models, and docs.
• Maintain understanding of architecture, databases, cloud platforms, and system interactions.
• Analyze production issues and drive root-cause analysis and improvements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to support business strategies.
• Mentor analysts and promote best practices and knowledge sharing.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate requirements development and communications.
