Job summary

A Day in the Life

The North Haven site supports two critical manufacturing operations: Needles and Polymer Development & Braiding Manufacturing (PDBMF). Together, these teams manufacture precision needles, sutures, strands, and braided components that support Medtronic’s surgical portfolio.

This position is based in North Haven, Connecticut and works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to drive site performance and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an onsite role requiring daily engagement on the manufacturing floor.

The Senior Business Process Improvement Analyst leads manufacturing excellence and business process improvement initiatives across the North Haven site. This role develops and deploys strategies that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance, using data-driven analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness, productivity, compliance, and business results.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead site-wide manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement initiatives that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance.
• Develop and execute operational improvement strategies aligned with site objectives, business priorities, and performance targets.
• Analyze manufacturing processes, operational metrics, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities and drive measurable results.
• Facilitate cross-functional improvement projects involving Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations stakeholders.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Agile, and Operational Excellence methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and strengthen process capability.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions to address operational performance gaps.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards and reporting tools that support data-driven decision-making.
• Review and improve manufacturing documentation, procedures, and process controls to support compliance and operational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading business process improvement, operational excellence, or continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience analyzing operational data, identifying performance gaps, and implementing measurable process improvements.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving results through collaboration with multiple business functions.
• Experience using process improvement tools and methodologies to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, including medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or similar industries.
• Experience developing and implementing manufacturing excellence or operational performance strategies across a site or business unit.
• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or related continuous improvement methodologies.
• Six Sigma certification and/or demonstrated success leading large-scale operational improvement initiatives.
• Experience creating KPI dashboards and using data analytics tools to support operational and financial decision-making.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$87,200.00 - $130,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
