Marathon Petroleum Company LP seeks a Senior BI Developer to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise BI solutions that drive data‑driven decisions. You will collaborate with Data Engineers to optimize ETL pipelines and create complex data models from structured and unstructured sources.

Working with business stakeholders and Data Governance, you will translate analytics into actionable recommendations, ensure data security, and mentor teammates in BI best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant BI developer experience.
• Proficient in SQL: joins, aggregation, indexes, views, nested queries.
• Proficient in Power BI: Power Query, DAX, STAR schema, visuals, and Git version control.

This role manages BI projects from initiation through implementation, collaborates with Data Engineers to optimize data pipelines and ETL processes, and develops complex data models that transform structured and unstructured data into meaningful insights.Working closely with business stakeholders, Data Governance teams, and technical partners, the Senior BI Developer translates analytical findings into actionable recommendations, ensures compliance with data governance and security standards, and drives continuous improvement of BI platforms and infrastructure. The role also provides technical leadership, mentors team members on BI best practices, and helps shape the organization's Business Intelligence strategy to maximize business value.This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level.
