ICONMA is assisting a Health Insurance client in Reston, VA, seeking a Senior BI Analyst for a hybrid role. You will develop analytics visualizations, deliver healthcare insights, and partner with business leads to drive data-informed decisions.

You will lead BI projects, create KPIs and dashboards, and mentor junior analysts while leveraging Power BI, SQL, and Enterprise BI tools in a fast-paced health payer environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or related field.
• 8+ years of BI analytics experience with data analytics and/or database management systems.
• Advanced Power BI development, complex DAX, start-schema modelling, row-level security, performance tuning, Power BI Service Administration.
• Advanced SQL: complex queries, stored procedures, data warehouse design, analysis of large data.
• Power Platform experience: Power Apps, Power Automate, and data integration (SharePoint, AWS, Cloudera).
• Strong stakeholder requirements gathering and storytelling with data.
• Leadership experience mentoring BI developers and setting reporting standards.
• Experience with Enterprise BI tools: MicroStrategy, Tableau, Cognos, and integration with Power BI.
• Healthcare payer domain knowledge and ability to work with AWS and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
• Power Platform/Power BI certifications encouraged.

Our client, a Health Insurance company, is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst for their Reston, VA/Hybrid location.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes data analytics and contributes to a set of business initiatives designed to help business partners extract value from information. Develops data visualizations for analysis, problem-solving, and business solutions.
• 20% Evaluates healthcare analytics to generate insights for healthcare solutions,
• 20% Operates as a trusted thought partner with business leads to perform both proactive and reactive analysis for key stakeholders and derives insights between key metrics and their drivers.
• 15% Researches meaningful reports and analysis for health care system entities and presents on findings.
• 15% Creates effective key performance indicators and balanced scorecards that provide improved decision-making.
• 10% Builds infrastructure that supports analytical rigor and develops models and tools that drive healthcare strategy.
• 10% Uses business analytics to anticipate future needs of the healthcare organization. Leverages data to address business challenges using data analytics.
• 10% Utilized as a resource for junior business intelligence analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree. Education Details: Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
• 8+ Min years experience with business intelligence tools, data analytics and/or database management systems
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
• Advanced Power BI: Hands-on advanced Power BI Development, Complex DAX, start-schema modelling, row-level security, performance tuning, Power BI Service Administration
• Advanced SQL and Database expertise: Complex SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, data warehouse design and experience analyzing and reporting large volumes of data.
• Power Platform: Hands-on Power Apps (canvas and/or model-driven), Power Automate workflows to integrate data including SharePoint, AWS (S3, Redshift, Athena), Cloudera and other sources.
• Stakeholder skills: Understanding stakeholder requirements, articulates well on the story behind the data.
• Leadership: Has led or mentored BI developers, run code reviews, set reporting standards
• Quantitative foundation: Degree or strong grounding in mathematics, statistics
• 8 to 9 years of experience in BI Reporting.
• Strong Preference
• Enterprise BI Tools: MicroStrategy (or Tableau, Cognos), including integration with Power BI.
• AI capabilities: Experience in building AI-assisted Power Platform solutions and experience in building Semantic Power BI models for Agentic AI consumption.
• Healthcare Payer Domain
• Experience integrating or working with Microsoft Fabric and AWS Ecosystem.
• Any relevant Power Platform/ Power BI certifications.
