Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for the COAT group to support Sightline, translating business needs into actionable requirements for data-driven platforms. You will collaborate with product managers, architects, developers, and clients to document data requirements and drive functional specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering, Science, IT or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role supporting data-driven or technical systems.
• 2+ years of experience prioritizing multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and time sensitive assignments and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Gather, clarify, and document data-related and system requirements in partnership with stakeholders and technical teams.
• Create stories and tasks in JIRA to support client deliverables.
• Ensure proper execution of operations work and dev-ops enhancements to current products.

ICF is seeking a Business Analyst for our Centralized Operations, Analytics and Technology (COAT) group to support ICF’s Sightline. In this role, you will work with product managers, technical architects, developers, and clients to define and organize business requirements for our data-driven platform supporting energy efficiency and clean energy programs, with a focus on translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams.

This involves partnering closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, facilitate discussions, and ensure alignment across teams while maintaining clear and up-to-date product documentation.

This is a role for someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and really dive into the details. Successful candidates will be resourceful, self-motivated, and possess exceptional attention to detail. The work requires a true team player who is excited to work on several projects across multiple clients and is comfortable working within technical teams and understanding data concepts without needing to perform hands-on development or data engineering work.

Candidates should be comfortable working on a software product development team following a scrum development methodology. Candidates should appreciate a collaborative environment but be highly independent and driven to follow-up on tasks without prompting. Our software solution supports complex and data-rich programs, so a desire and experience to communicate and navigate nuanced topics across both technical and non-technical audiences is a must.

What you will be doing:

• Support various teams by gathering, clarifying, and documenting data-related and system requirements in partnership with stakeholders and within technical teams
• Create stories and tasks in JIRA to support the execution of client deliverables
• Ensure proper execution of operations work and dev-ops work (enhancements to current products)

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering, Science,ITor related discipline (applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education)
• 5+ years of experience working in a Business Analyst or similar role supporting data-driven or technical systems, with a focus on requirements gathering, stakeholder collaboration, and translating business needs into technical solutions(A Master’s degree or PhD may substitute for up to two years of required experience)
• 2+ years of experience prioritizing multiple projects to meet goals,deliverables, and time sensitive assignments and deadlines

What we would like you to have (preferred qualifications):

• Prior experience with gathering software requirements, especially related to working with teams to define data needs and ensure clarity of system inputs and outputs
• Experience prioritizing multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and time sensitive assignments and deadlines
• Prior experience working in an Agile software development process
• Prior experience with supporting data-related workflows or systems
• Knowledge and experience with JIRA and/or Confluence
• Proven ability to develop system documentation to track issues and to work with developers to ensure that requirements are being met
• Experience defining and documenting business processes and software requirements in an agile software development process

Pay Range

There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$81,499.00 - $138,549.00
