Job description

The Senior Business Analyst works directly with customers and coworkers and must communicate effectively by phone and web conference. In addition to supporting all phases of the project, this position may author and peer‑review functional, technical, training, marketing, and proposal content.

  • Guide the project team in applying industry best practices and detailed business analysis knowledge to design solutions that meet or exceed functional requirements.
  • Translate application functionality into solution architecture inputs and business functionality requirements.
  • Document current‑state and future‑state workflows, business rules, decisions, and analysis results.
  • Own user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional tests in line with agile best practices.
  • Lead functional testing and quality reviews to confirm business and design requirements are met.
  • Contribute to test‑plan development and execution and help create and deliver end‑user training.
  • Support Organizational Change Management by clearly explaining the future‑state solution and its impact.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers, stakeholders, and subject‑matter experts across the organization.
  • Break down complex business problems, identify root causes, and recommend practical solution options.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote consistent business‑analysis practices across engagements.
  • Apply public‑health domain knowledge, when available, to accelerate discovery and solution design for public‑sector health programs.
What We Expect of You
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience designing and developing process workflows and drafting stories. Or, 7+ years of experience designing and developing process workflows and drafting stories.
  • Experience with business analysis methods, requirements documentation, and process modeling.
  • Strong working knowledge of requirements gathering software support, data mining tools, business process mapping and visual diagramming, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven ability to elicit functional and business requirements.
  • Demonstrated work experience in process definition including facilitation, process documentation, change control, and process improvement.
  • Experience in evaluating information, identifying risks and opportunities, while possessing creative problem‑solving skills with an understanding of business concepts and models at all organizational maturity levels.
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Seeks ways to improve processes, from small tweaks to complete re‑engineering. Identifies and creates processes necessary to get work done.
  • Familiarity with cost/benefit and ROI data analysis, core business financial concepts and how they are attached to value and risk, a plus.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile SAFe, or Scrum Master, a plus.
