Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires certification as Building Official or progression toward provisional license with certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Review permit applications and issue permits.
• Inspect construction to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Enforce building and zoning regulations and file notices when needed.
• Explain codes and regulations to applicants and the public.
• Prepare testimony for court proceedings when required.
• Maintain records of permits, inspections, and orders issued.
