Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across interior and exterior building components. You will monitor operations, manage energy usage, and supervise contractor work, ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 8+ years in relevant systems, universal CFC certs, and licenses. Strong communication and budgeting skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 8+ years in electrical, refrigeration or HVAC.
• Waste water license required or obtainable on hire.
• Universal CFC certification required.
• Certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or refrigeration systems preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; good organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Complies with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and lighting.
• Maintains building lighting, equipment spaces, and common areas.
• Prepares estimates of time and materials; orders supplies as needed.
• Maintains energy management program to minimize operating costs.
• Oversees outside contractors’ work (landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning).
• Performs complex tasks (carpentry, electrical, HVAC, locksmith) and inspects building systems.
• Responds to emergencies using work order system and email, and assists customers.
