Job summary

FM Approvals in Chepachet, Rhode Island, seeks an experienced engineer to plan, conduct and direct the evaluation and certification of property loss prevention products in building materials and assemblies. You will lead tests in our labs and prepare reports, with travel typically under 20% to consult with customers.

The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in a technical field, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong project management and communication skills, and familiarity with FM Approvals

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field with 5 years' experience or MS in a technical field.
• Engineering degree in civil, structural or mechanical preferred.
• Experience with building materials, components and roofing assemblies desired.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and direct evaluation and certification of property loss prevention products.
• Develop proposals, manage projects and supervise tests.
• Document results and prepare written reports and related tasks.
• Presentations and representation to trade associations as needed.
