Job summary

Willdan Group, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time ICC-Certified Senior Combination Building Inspector to join our Richmond area team (Richmond / Larkspur / Kentfield). This role focuses on ensuring safety, code compliance, and quality in public-facing projects across municipalities.

You will conduct inspections, issue permits and notices, mentor staff, and provide technical guidance while staying current with evolving building standards to protect communities.

Qualifications

• ICC Certifications: Commercial and Residential, plus Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing.
• Minimum 5 years of municipal inspection experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving with contractors and city staff.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform fieldwork safely.
• Commitment to ongoing professional education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct combination inspections before, during, and after construction to ensure building code compliance and safety.
• Issue permits, violation notices, and stop-work orders when needed.
• Clearly communicate findings with homeowners, contractors, and field personnel.
• Mentor and train inspection staff to build a stronger team.
• Serve as a trusted resource for technical guidance and customer service.
• Stay updated on developments in building and safety standards.
