Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Utah Combination Inspector license with ICC Residential and Commercial certifications.
• Minimum five years of field inspections or six years in related construction work.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong knowledge of construction codes; ability to interpret plans and estimates.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting sites for conformity with city, state, and relevant codes.
• Review building plans and issue permits for various construction phases.
• Enforce codes, respond to violations, and coordinate with contractors.
• Explain ordinances to homeowners and builders; document findings and actions.
