An established industry player is seeking a Senior Building Inspector to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. This role requires a minimum of 7 years of inspection experience and valid ICC certifications. The inspector will be responsible for reviewing construction plans, conducting inspections, and providing guidance to contractors and the public. Salary Range: $87,360 – $124,800
Senior Building Inspectors must have valid ICC certifications for at least B2, E2, M2 and P2 and a minimum of 7 years of inspection experience.
Job Description
Under general supervision: Inspects building construction and repair activities to insure compliance with City and State codes pertaining to building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical; enforces Codes by giving instructions, written discrepancy notices, or stop work orders; reviews non-structural construction plans for compliance with City and State Codes pertaining to building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical; confers with architects, contractors, builders, building designers, property owners, and the general public to explain and interpret Code requirements and restrictions; responds to office inquiries on building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical regulations; reviews plans and applications for permits; maintains records and correspondence pertaining to inspection work; prepares and writes reports; works under the general supervision of a Lead Inspector or other supervisor as assigned; may supervise others as assigned and assist in the training of new personnel, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualified candidates to conduct building inspections that have minimum of 7 years of experience in building inspections and staff to be certified by ICC for at least B2, E2, M2, and P2. Must have knowledge and skills in building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy, green building and other related codes and ordinances.
