Job summary

The Building People seeks a Senior Building Controls Technician to lead design, programming, and commissioning of building automation systems. The role covers hardware/software development, testing, and customer-facing training, with supervisory duties and travel to project sites.

Qualifications include Niagara N4 certification, strong communication and troubleshooting skills, and experience with BACnet, LON, and Modbus protocols. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup and commissioning of control systems.
• Niagara N4 certification required.
• Experience with multiple manufacturers of controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans and contract documents.
• Program projects with varying complexity and perform network and database troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering on system configuration, graphics, and sequences of operations.
• Develop and configure sequences of operations, graphics, database, and third party integrations.
• Provide owner training and conduct system commissioning and functional testing.
• Assist in installation of control hardware and startup of new installations.
• Provide project management assistance interfacing with customers; supervise subcontractors as needed.
