This position involves programming, configuring, and testing Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, with independent work style and limited supervision. A minimum travel of 25% is required to meet project needs and collaborate with the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents
• Program projects with various levels of complexity
• Troubleshoot networks and databases and repair programming
• Collaborate with the engineering team on system configuration, network, graphics, programming, and sequences of operations
• Develop and configure sequences of operations, programming, graphics, databases, networks, and integrations into third-party systems
• Maintain project documentation and redlines
• Provide owner training as required
• Perform system commissioning and functional testing
• Assist in installation of control hardware and startup/commissioning of new installations
• Provide project management assistance and interface with customers
• Supervise subcontractors and suppliers
• Educate lower-level technicians through on-the-job training

Job description

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Senior Building Controls Technicianto provide services related to the expansion, upgrade or replacement of building automation hardware and software for smart building infrastructure. The position will work independently to meet project requirements with limited supervision. The programmer will be responsible for programming, configuring, and testing of Direct Digital Control (DDC) building automation and control systems.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents
• Ability to program projects with various levels of complexity
• Capable of performing network troubleshooting, database troubleshooting and repair programming
• Collaborates with the engineering team on the system configuration, network and software requirements, graphics, programming, and sequences of operations
• Develop and configure the sequence of operations, programming, graphics, database, network, and integrations into third party systems
• Maintains accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines
• Provides owner training as required by the project
• Executes system commissioning and functional testing
• Assist in installation of control hardware
• Startup and commission new hardware installations
• Provide project management assistance on projects as required, interfacing directly to customers
• Supervise sub-contractors and suppliers as needed
• Help educate lower-level technicians through on the job training as needed
