Job summary

The Building People is seeking a Senior Building Controls Technician to expand, upgrade, or replace building automation hardware and software for smart building infrastructure. You will independently meet project requirements, programming, configuring, and testing Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.

The role is based in Leesburg with primary work in Washington, DC and nearby suburbs. You will design and engineer control systems, program with varying complexity, and collaborate with engineering

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup and commissioning of control systems.
• Niagara N4 certification.
• Experience with multiple manufacturers of controls is a plus.
• Technical knowledge with installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans and specs.
• Program projects with varying levels of complexity and test results.
• Troubleshoot networks, databases and repair programming.
• Collaborate with engineering on system configuration, graphics, and sequences.
• Develop sequences of operations, graphics, database, network, and integrations to third party systems.
• Maintain project documentation and redlines; provide owner training as required.
• Perform system commissioning and functional testing; assist in installing hardware.
• Startup and commission new hardware installations; provide project management assistance.
• Supervise sub-contractors and suppliers; educate junior technicians.
