Job summary

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst (GG-14) to manage budgets for major space systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field qualifies for this level.
• Knowledge of financial management budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, and processes.
• Understanding of the federal budget process to formulate estimates and reports.
• Knowledgeable in program analyses techniques to review performance and plans for improvements.
• Experience in budgeting, financial management, cost estimating, and government program accounting; strong writing/editing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage/support a program, procurement, or major system acquisition with significant resources.
• Direct the budget activities to ensure optimal effectiveness, efficiency and utilization of program resources.
• Develop budget estimates to support programs by researching, compiling, and summarizing data.
• Recommend and justify realignments/reallocation/reprogramming of funds to management.
• Provide analysis and oversight of expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance with directives.
• Perform the full range of supervisory/managerial functions.
• Analyze and manage productivity, workload, and program accomplishments of subordinates.
• Direct the development and implementation of budgetary policies, plans, and procedures; evaluate changes.
• Secure classified information in accordance with EO 13526 and related diversity tenets.
