Job summary

WTHI-TV, part of Gray Media, seeks a hands‑on engineering professional to lead the broadcast and IT operations of our west central Indiana station. You will partner with the Regional Chief Engineer to maintain, modernize, and future‑proof the station’s SDI, automation, IT networks, and vendor relationships, ensuring reliable live broadcasts.

Qualifications

Hands-on engineer with 5+ years in broadcast engineering and IT
Experience with SDI signal flow, routing, and monitoring
Familiarity with Grass Valley, Chyron, Imagine, ENPS/automation
VMware virtual environments, Windows Server, AD
On-call support including evenings, weekends, holidays

Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, and optimize studio, control room, and transmission systems
Support Grass Valley Kayak HD, production switchers, Chyron, routers, and control systems
Manage SDI signal paths, routing, and monitoring
Oversee IT: VMware, Windows servers, AD, backups
Collaborate with newsroom and corporate teams; document systems
