Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Bridge Project Manager to lead the Bridge Team across multiple Northeast locations, including Portland, ME.

The role focuses on delivering large-scale bridge replacement and repair projects for DOT clients with a strong emphasis on design-build execution and multidisciplinary team leadership. Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with a PE license and 8–10+ years in engineering and project management, plus experience with MassDOT/CTDOT/RIDOT,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
• PE license required.
• Minimum 10 years progressive engineering experience; minimum of 8 years of project management experience required.
• Experience with MassDOT, CTDOT, and/or RIDOT required.
• Strong design-build experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage bridge replacement and repair project delivery for DOT clients, including scope, budget, schedule, and client relationships, while thoroughly understanding project risks, financial measures, and designbuild delivery requirements
• Serve as a "seller/doer," developing work with specific clients and leading marketing plan development for target market areas
• Lead and mentor other Project Managers, setting vision and strategy, and supporting professional growth across the team
• Prepare proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents
• Track and oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality control and compliance with company standards, DOT requirements, and design-build best practices
• Play a key role in client contract interpretation and relationship management, ensuring all client needs are met

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Bridge Project Manager to join our Bridge Team as a technical leader and mentor in Boston, MA; Burlington, MA; Providence, RI; Hartford, CT; Norwell, MA; Portland, ME; or Keene, NH. This seniorlevel role will focus on delivering bridge replacement and repair projects for DOT clients, with a strong emphasis on bridge designbuild delivery. This individual will lead multidisciplinary teams, serve as a trusted advisor to public agency partners, and play a pivotal role in advancing resilient, constructible, and innovative bridge solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Manage all aspects of bridge replacement and repair project delivery for DOT clients, including scope, budget, schedule, and client relationships, while thoroughly understanding project risks, financial measures, and designbuild delivery requirements
• Serve as a "seller/doer," developing work with specific clients and leading marketing plan development for target market areas
• Lead and mentor other Project Managers, setting vision and strategy, and supporting professional growth across the team

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required; minimum of 8 years of project management experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Experience with MassDOT, CTDOT, and/or RIDOT required
• Strong design-build experience required
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, and Deltek Vision preferred
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and oversee project accounting processes
• Experience preparing proposals and project documentation as well as interpreting client contracts
• Ability to travel as needed
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$140,000 - $160,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
