Job summary
Disney Cruise Line is seeking a First Officer to lead the Navigation Watch, coordinate with the Master and oversee bridge operations aboard a Disney vessel. This shipboard role requires strong leadership and a commitment to safety.
You will report to the Staff Captain and must hold a Chief Mate unrestricted license or higher, with 2+ years on similar vessels and fluent English. The position is Dubai? (shipboard) and includes living on board along with comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- 2+ years' experience as Senior Watch Keeper on medium to large cruise vessels preferred.
- Enthusiasm about guiding other team members.
Responsibilities
- Be the Navigation Watch leader on a dual watch with a Junior Deck Officer.
- Purchase and maintain publications and charts; oversee cruise planning.
- Oversee mooring stations during arrivals and departures.
- Manage navigational instruments and report deficiencies.
- Oversee emergency/pyrotechnic equipment and maintenance systems.
- Maintain ship-handling simulators on board.
- Assist safety with crew training and safety equipment maintenance.
- Uphold safety management responsibilities under your control.
