Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a talented Senior Bridge Engineer for our US region, with opportunities in cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York. You’ll work on pedestrian bridge projects and lead teams across a portfolio of innovative designs.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in bridge engineering, strong communication, and the ability to apply US Building and Material Codes. Hybrid working and compensation opportunities accompany a supportive, diverse practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of innovative bridge engineering design.
• PE desirable.
• Thorough knowledge of US Building and Material Codes.
• Experience with BIM tools such as REVIT.
• Willingness to learn Rhino/Grasshopper and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients, architects and other engineers on a dedicated team.
• Provide detailed engineering designs, drawings, documents, specifications, and act as job leader on projects as required.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work; manage job resources and expenditure.
• Ensure practices align with client interests and current legislation.
• Work independently.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers.
