Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a strong bridge design background to join our Structural Engineering Team in Mobile, AL. You will focus on bridge design for federal, state, and local projects, ensuring safety and code compliance.

The role requires a PE license, ABET-accredited degree, and at least 10 years of bridge experience, with proficiency in OpenBridge LEAP and MicroStation. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of bridge design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license must be current.
• Proficient in structural FEA analysis, OpenBridge LEAP, and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, modeling, and design for public and private sector projects.
• Focus on state and local highway bridge design; other work includes buildings, marine structures, and foundations.
• Produce technical reports, design documents, and support client communication.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
