Job summary

Fulton County is seeking a Senior Librarian to manage a library branch or department, supervise staff and volunteers, and lead outreach programs. The position requires an MLIS and several years of professional experience with leadership responsibilities.

The role focuses on budgeting, policy implementation, and coordinating services across branches including Fairburn, Metropolitan, and Northeast/Spruill Oaks locations. A GA driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science is required.
• Four years of professional librarian experience with at least two years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Ability to learn, apply and enforce county/department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and evaluate staff and volunteers; manage schedules and performance.
• Plan and coordinate outreach, programs, and community partnerships.
• Develop and monitor the branch/department budget and expenditures.
• Oversee operations of a library branch or department and ensure service quality.
• Serve as a system-wide technical expert on library services as needed.
• Prepare monthly reports and communicate progress to management.
