Job summary

CS&L CPAs, a respected public accounting firm serving Southwest Florida, seeks a Senior Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and support the full accounting cycle in our Bradenton office.

You’ll reconcile ledgers, prepare financial statements, and assist with tax filings, audits, and vendor relations, collaborating with a team that values accuracy, integrity, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior bookkeeper or similar accounting role.
• Experience reconciling all balance sheet accounts.
• Proficiency in preparing and posting adjusting journal entries.
• Experience generating, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements.
• Ability to analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Experience with full-charge bookkeeping and financial statement prep.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Read financial statements, analyze variances, and identify discrepancies.
• Perform general cost accounting and related duties.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close monthly books.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly and respond to banking inquiries.
• Manage accounts receivable collections and customer accounts.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure correct expense coding.
• Assist external auditors with requested documents for annual audits.
• Coordinate with accounting software vendors to improve systems and updates.
